Virginia E. Belscamper

Virginia BelscamperFennimore, WI – Virginia Evelyn Belscamper, age 85, died on Tuesday morning July 14, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, IA. Virginia was born on Oct. 7, 1929 in Lancaster, WI the daughter of Virgil and Mildred (Platt) Burton. She married Bob Belscamper on May 3, 1950 at the Lancaster United Methodist Church.

Virginia graduated from Lancaster High School in 1947 and then worked for the county agent’s office for some time. She then took a job as secretary to an accountant for two years. At the time of her marriage to Bob in 1950, Virginia was working for the law firm of McIntyre and Kinney. After several years of part time work, she was employed by resource development agent Fred Lenz, an extension affiliate. Virginia and Bob lived on the family farm in North Lancaster Township until moving to Fennimore in 1980. She was an active member of the Fennimore United Methodist Church where she volunteered in the office and for numerous church functions through the years. Virginia enjoyed traveling with Bob, gambling, dancing, oil painting and playing cards.

Virginia is survived by her husband Bob of Fennimore, three children; Vicki (John) Hoffman of Lancaster, Bruce (Debbie) Belscamper of Lancaster, and Becky Jo Belscamper of Fennimore, five grandchildren; Michael and Melanie Hoffman, Brian (Amy) Belscamper, Jenny (David) Dixon, and Brett Belscamper, five great-grandchildren; Brennen, Reese, Riley and Bromley Belscamper, and Tyler Dixon, and sister-in-law Geraldine Croft.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law Lavern Croft

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday July 17, 2015 at the Fennimore United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Renee Thomas will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday July 16, 2015 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Friday morning. In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Virginia E. Belscamper
