Shirlee J. Kramer, age 86, of Brookfield, and formerly of Livingston, died on Saturday Dec. 3, 2016 at Franciscan Woods in Brookfield, WI. Shirlee was born on Oct. 21, 1930 in Richland Center, WI the daughter of Arnold and Delina (Beaudry) Ellingson. She married Byron Kramer on March 7, 1945 in Dubuque, IA.
Shirlee was raised in the Milwaukee area until moving to Fennimore in the late 1940’s. She later moved to Livingston where she lived until moving to Milwaukee in 1996 to be closer to family after the untimely death of her husband Byron. Shirlee worked at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore teaching food service classes and managing the kitchen. She enjoyed camping at Blackhawk Lake and Lake Joy in her younger years and spending time at her daughter’s cottage in Minocqua in recent years. She also liked to crochet, quilt, cook, play cards and go to the casino. Shirlee was a member of the Elmbrook Church in Brookfield and cherished the time spent with her fellowship group, single women over the age of 55. Shirlee had fun in life and her strength and endless energy will forever be cherished.
Shirlee is survived by her two children, Dell (Tim) McGuire of Waukesha and Scott Kramer of Wauconda, IL; six grand children, Lisa (Keith) Aguglia, Amy (Mark) Murdoch, Michele Zenner, Angie (Rob) Matheis, Danielle (Adam) McGuire and Kyle Kramer, nine great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and brother LaVern (Janice) Ellingson of Oconomowoc.
Shirlee was preceded in death by her parents, husband Byron, daughter Cheryl Schiefert, grandson Michael Schiefert and brother Eugene Ellingson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday Dec. 10, 2016 at the Livingston United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Rock Church Cemetery, rural Livingston. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Saturday morning.
