Ronald N. Eggers

Ronald EggersRonald “Ron” Noel Eggers, age 66 of Livingston, died on Thursday morning April 2, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Madison.  Ron was born on Dec. 21, 1948 in Oak Park, IL the son of Arthur and Ann (Jacobs) Eggers.  He was united on marriage to Ellen Jennings on July 31, 1999.

Following graduation from high school, Ron served in the US Army from 1969 – 1972.  He bravely flew as a door gunner aboard Huey helicopters during the Vietnam War. In 1978 he moved his family from the Chicago area to Richland Center and later to Livingston in 1998.  Ron enjoyed watching drag racing and the Badgers and Packers, fishing, woodworking, and morning coffee and conversation with the gang at Alley Oops.  He cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren, and cats Abigail and Pierre.

Ron is survived by his loving wife Ellen of Livingston, three children; Christine Eggers (Tony Coy) of Livingston, Ronnie Eggers Jr. (Stephanie Kretschman) of Muscoda, and Kris Jennings of Orlando Florida, nine grandchildren; Austin, Justin, Blake, Masen, Bianca, Cody, Brooklyn, Calvin, and Brock, and a brother Terry (Debra) Eggers of Lombard, IL.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and ex-wife Sandy Bearce.

Funeral services with military honors will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday April 11, 2015 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort. Pastor Greg Marsh of the Livingston Free Methodist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Burial of the cremains will be held at a later date in the Rock Church Cemetery in rural Livingston.
