Robert H. "Bob" Brugger

Bob Brugger 2Fennimore – Robert H. “Bob” Brugger, age 79, died on Saturday evening Feb. 21, 2015 at UW-Hospital in Madison.  Bob was born on Aug. 4, 1935 in Platteville, WI the son of Henie and Marion (Altenburg) Brugger. He married Donna Shepard on Nov. 30, 1957 in Platteville, WI.

Following graduation from Platteville High School, Bob served in the US Army from 1955–1958. He then served as an Undersheriff in Grant County from 1960–1963 and then the Platteville police department until beginning work at the Fennimore Phone Company in 1966.  Bob worked for the phone company, which later became TDS, for over 30 years before retiring in 1996. Bob was a past president of the Fennimore Lions Club and Fennimore Railroad Museum. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors fishing, golfing, and sitting on the deck listening to the Brewers.  He was also very talented in upholstery and an avid fan of Wisconsin sports teams.  Bob and Donna enjoyed spending their winters in Naples and later Sebring Florida and cherished spending time supporting their grandchildren in their various endeavors.  Bob also loved playing practical jokes on friends and family and maintained a great sense of humor throughout his life.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife Donna of Fennimore, four sons; Brad (Pam) Brugger of Oregon, WI, Bret Brugger of Green Bay, WI, Brian (Becky) Brugger of Verona, and Bob (Shelley) Brugger of Plattsmouth, NE, seven grandchildren; Christina, Megan, Wade, Jakob, Alyssa, Alexis, and Luke Brugger, step-mother Helen Brugger of Platteville, and sister-in-laws; Marge Brugger of Coweta, OK, Karen Shepard of Platteville, and brother-in-law Doug Von Glahn of Belmont, WI.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother Phil Brugger, sister Joan Von Glahn, and step-father Don Arthur.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday Feb. 26, 2015 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening Feb. 25, 2015 at the funeral home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday morning. Burial of the cremated remains will be held at a later date.
