Mt. Hope – Rick A. Fremont, age 58, died on Friday Nov. 4, 2016 at his residence in rural Mt. Hope. Rick was born on June 20, 1958 in Lancaster, WI the son of Art and Doris (White) Fremont.
Rick loved being in the woods and worked as a logger for most of his adult life. When not working, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and cherished going out to breakfast with his children. For several years, Rick lived next to and watched over the airport in Boscobel. While there, he was able to give his children the lasting memory of their first airplane ride.
Rick is survived by his three children, Eric Fremont of Mt. Hope, Josh (Sarah Phillips) of Madison, and Ashley (Nick) Landon of Lancaster, three grandchildren, Charlotte Phillips-Fremont and Lynea and Bentley Landon, parents Art and Doris Fremont of Mt. Hope, siblings Steve, Patty and Julie Fremont all of Mt. Hope and his children’s mother Donna Fremont of Dubuque, IA.
Rick was preceded in death by his daughter Monica Fremont.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday Nov. 12, 2016 at the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Saturday morning. Private family burial of the cremains will be held at a later date at Hermitage Cemetery in Mt. Hope Township. The Larson Family Funeral Home of Fennimore is assisting the family.
