Patricia L. Berg

Patricia L. Berg, age 66, of Livingston, passed away peacefully on Friday July 21, 2017 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg with her family by her side, related to complications of Interstitial Lung Disease. She was the heart and soul of our family. Pat was born on March 31, 1951 in Dodgeville the daughter of Roscoe and Bernadine (Straka) Cook. She was united in marriage to Jerry Berg on Aug. 16, 1969 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort.

Pat graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in the class of 1969. Following her marriage to Jerry, she held various jobs including working at Rayovac, Bloomfield Manor, and the Courthouse Inn. She then furthered her education and worked as a Pharmacy Tech until her retirement. Mom loved her family ferociously, always willing to help anyway she could. Mom was an avid canner and loved baking, especially cakes. She made many of her daughters, nieces, and nephews wedding cakes and numerous birthday and graduation cakes. Mom enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and most of all she enjoyed her time with her family.

Pat is survived by her beloved husband Jerry of Livingston, four daughters; Kristy (Dave) Scoville of Blanchardville, Tracy Berg of Oshkosh, Tammy Berg (Ray Prescher) of Livingston, Jody Berg (Troy Ruland) of Mazomanie, six grandchildren; Paul, Jake (Samantha), Emily (Jake), Rhetta, Harker and Ray Ray, mother Bernadine Cook of Montfort, sisters Rita (John) Rice of Cottage Grove, Linda (Al) Lorenz of Madison, Brenda (Rich) Williams of Rewey, brothers; Greg (Beth) Cook of Avoca, Gerard Cook of Montfort, and many special nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her father Roscoe Cook, grandparents Bert and Frankie Cook, and John and Julia Straka, sister-in-law Diane Vickers, brothers-in-law Eugene and Wayne Berg, Tom Meylor, and her father and mother-in-law Carl and Margaret Berg.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Agrace Hospice for the compassionate care they showed to our mom and family during this time. We would also like to thank the nursing and support staff of the ICU and the 11th floor of Unity Point at Meriter who helped care for Mom along this journey. Mom, we love you and will miss you more than can be imagined. Be at peace. Love and happiness always.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday July 27, 2017 at the St Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort with inurnment to be held at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the church on Thursday morning. The Soman-Larson Funeral of Montfort is assisting the family.
