She was united in marriage to Harry Edge on September 21, 1947. Avis and Harry enjoyed playing cards and dancing with their friends. Avis was known around the area for her baking of wedding and birthday cakes. She was an aide for the disabled for the Fennimore and River Ridge Schools for many years. Laurel was born on July 25, 1921 in Clayton Township Crawford County, WI the son of Fred and Bessie (Huffman) Mook. He was united in marriage to Nelda Stimpson on Jan. 3, 1947. Laurel graduated from Gays Mills High School in 1939 where he excelled in baseball, track and basketball. Laurel joined the Army Air Corps in 1942 and proudly served 33 months overseas in the Pacific during WWII. His last stop was Okinawa before being honorably discharged in 1946. …
