Neil Laverne Addison, age 84 of Montfort, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015. He was born on March 31, 1930, in Eden Township to Everett and Anna (Jacobson) Addison. He married Phyllis Trankle on April 25, 1953 at the Cobb United Methodist Church.
Neil graduated from Montfort High School, and successfully farmed where he was born and raised, just north of Montfort. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, telling stories of his childhood and adventures as a young man. Neil was an avid participant at area auctions where he always found another item to add to his collections and share with his family. Neil and Phyllis traveled extensively during retirement and loved spending winters in Arizona with many great friends and relatives.
He was a member of the Montfort United Methodist Church, the Montfort and Linden Masonic Lodge, and Zor Shriners. Neil’s life was devoted to the happiness of his family. The success of his family is a true testament of his love.
Neil was preceded in death by the one and only love of his life, Phyllis, in 2003, his parents, brother Lyle, and sister Donna Reiser
He is survived by nine children: Sherill (Gene) Tremelling, Montfort, WI; Jeff (Toni) Addison, Fitchburg, WI; Eric (Teresa) Addison, Montfort, WI; Marjean (Steve) Addison-Jasso, Montfort, WI; Steve (Bruna) Addison, Platteville, WI; John (Jenny) Addison, Beaver Dam, WI; David (Kelly) Addison, Reeseville, WI; Greg (Kelly) Addison, Luxemburg, WI; Randy (Sharon) Addison, Potosi, WI; 21 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and his brother Loren, Cobb, WI.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday March 14, 2014 at the Montfort United Methodist Church with Pastor Peter Berg officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Montfort. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 pm on Friday evening, March 13, 2015 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort where a Masonic service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Friends may also call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Neil L. Addison
