Mildred Bowen

Madison/Cobb – Mildred (Nagel) Bowen, age 88, passed away Saturday Dec. 19, 2015 at UW Hospital in Madison. Mildred was born April 20, 1927 in Cobb, WI the daughter of Melvin and Amy (Merritt) Nagel.

Mildred graduated from Cobb High School in 1945. She married Wayne Anderson on August 21, 1948. Mildred stayed at home to raise her children until moving back to Cobb in 1963 where she worked at the Cobb State Bank. Mildred married William Bowen in 1971 and moved to Owensboro, Kentucky where they managed a motel before returning to Wisconsin. She resided at the DeForest Senior Center from 2002-2015 and most recently was residing at Harmony of Madison.

Mildred is survived by her two children; David (Sandy) Anderson of Oregon and Nancy Sullivan of Sun Prairie, six grandchildren; Jean (Jim) Dressler of Dodgeville, Paul (Julie) Anderson of Cambridge, Andrew Sullivan of Poynette, Ashley (Cavan) Robinson of Waunakee, Nancy (Tony) Amirante of Osceola, and Derek Busse of Madison, six great-grandchildren; Zachery and Joshua Dressler of Dodgeville, Ashley and Tyler Amirante of Osceola, and Mason and Carter Busse of Madison, sisters Carolyn Nagel of Cobb and Evelyn (David) Wagner of Surprise, AZ, brother Everett (Pat) Nagel of St. Louis, MO and sister-in-law June Nagel of Cobb.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, first husband and father to her children, Wayne Anderson, second husband William Bowen, daughter Kathy Busse, brothers Richard and Norman Nagel and sister Elaine Nagel.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday Dec. 23, 2015 at Peace Lutheran Church in Cobb with burial to follow in the Calvary Cemetery. Pastor Kathy Jacobson will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the church on Wednesday afternoon.
