Marolyn R. Galbraith

Marolyn Galbraith 2Marolyn Ruth Galbraith, age 82, of Hartford, died on Saturday July 2, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Marolyn was born on Dec. 14, 1933 in Mount Hope, WI the youngest of nine children to Oral and Marjorie (Braudt) Monroe. She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, William Galbraith on Jan. 22, 1952 at the Mount Hope United Methodist Church.

Marolyn spent her childhood on several farms in the Mount Hope area and graduated from Mount Hope High School in 1951. Marolyn and Bill then moved to the Milwaukee area where Marolyn worked as a timekeeper for Briggs and Stratton for 30 years. She was a strong and quiet woman who always put her family first. She enjoyed cheering on her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their sporting events and kept track of all the scores and stats. She also loved spending time with her late cat Callie.  Marolyn was the stabilizing influence to her family and her quiet humor, paired with Bill’s giant humor, always meant lots of laughs at family gatherings. Everyone who knew Marolyn loved her. Her devotion to family and her trust in her Lord Jesus will forever be cherished.

Marolyn is survived by her husband William; five children, Mary Lynne (Frank) Drahos, Bill (Kari) Galbraith, John (Vickie) Galbraith, Norine (Rick) Hanke, and Rod (Sue) Galbraith, 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren with the 18th due in October, and sister-in-laws Gladys Monroe and Fern Monroe.

Marolyn was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters, and several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the Fennimore United Methodist Church.  The family suggests memorials to the Mount Hope United Methodist Church in Marolyn's name.
