Fennimore, WI - Lawrence “Larry” A. Bierman, age 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening Jan. 4, 2017 at his residence in Fennimore. He was born on Aug. 14, 1943 in Grant Co., WI the son of Henry & Alice (Ploessl) Bierman. He was united in marriage to Rita Chamberlain on July 26, 1969.
Following graduation from high school, Larry enlisted in the US Army. He served from Oct. 17, 1962 until being honorably discharged on Oct. 16, 1964, obtaining the rank of Specialist 4. Larry returned home and was employed by the United Parcel Service until retiring from UPS in 1997. Larry loved going for numerous road trips and vacations, boating, fishing, gardening and working outdoors around his home. He adored his family and was grateful for all the time spent together. He cherished the awesome ventures with his wife and son and truly loved being a grandpa. His dedication to his wife and family will be deeply missed.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Rita of Fennimore, son Timothy Bierman of Sun Prairie, two grandchildren Brett and Troy and great grandson Vincent. He is also survived by his siblings; Catherine (John) Schmit, Virginia Bierman and husband Don Droessler, Robert (Nancy) Bierman, Steven Bierman, Mark (Debbie) Bierman, Michael (Carolyn) Bierman all of Bloomington, Joseph (Cathy) Bierman of Bridgeport, James (Rose) Bierman of Lancaster, Jeffery Bierman of La Crescent, MN, brother-in-laws; Charles Kitelinger of Madison, William (Janine) Chamberlain of Rockford, IL and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gary Bierman, and his sister Susan Kitelinger.
A private memorial service and burial of the cremated remains will be held at a later date. The Larson Family Funeral Home of Fennimore is assisting the family.
