Joseph W. Washa

Joe WashaDodgeville – Joseph Walter “Joe” Washa, age 57, of Dodgeville and formerly of Montfort, died on Monday evening Nov. 30, 2015 at his residence in Dodgeville. Joe was born on March 21, 1958 in Boscobel, WI the son of Harold and Dorothy (Daggett) Washa. He married Deb Klar on Sept. 25, 1999 in Montfort.

Joe first lived in Castle Rock and then rural Montfort before moving into Montfort in 1970. He attended Montfort Grade School and Graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1976. Joe worked for the Village of Montfort from 1976-2010 and then Lands End in Dodgeville from 2011-2015. He was also a member of the Montfort Fire Department for 20 years. Joe enjoyed music and worked as a sound and light technician for several local bands including Kicks, White Rhino and Renegade. He also enjoyed small building projects, cooking and watching old movies. During the summer he cherished the time spent with family and friends at their permanent campsite in Wisconsin Dells. Joe was a loving and devoted husband, step-father and friend whose generosity and zest for life will be cherished forever.

Joe is survived by his wife Deb of Dodgeville, three step-children; Dan Hale, Justin Hale and RaeAnn Pearce all of Dodgeville, brother Paul (Dani) Washa of Rockford, IL, sister Kathy Bell of Sun Prairie, niece Amy (Nick) Olsen of Verona, nephew David (Kara) Bell of Madison, great-niece Harper Olsen and special friends Ken Nechvatal with the Renegade band and Tim Bredemus with the Trailer Kings band.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brother Willie Washa and step-son Anthony Russell.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday Dec. 12, 2015 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday morning.
