John A. "Jack" Petrick

Jack PetrickFennimore – John A. “Jack” Petrick, age 80, died on Wednesday afternoon June 8, 2016 at HCR Manor Care in Platteville. Jack was born on June 9, 1935 in Fond du Lac, WI the son of John and Ellen (Utter) Petrick. He was united in marriage to Karen Fritz on May 27, 1958.

After graduating from Fennimore High School, Jack joined the US Army, serving from June 1958 thru June 1960 and earning the rank of sergeant. Upon returning to Fennimore, Jack began working for 7-UP as a delivery driver until being employed at the First Sate Bank in Fennimore. He was a dedicated employee, working as a loan officer until retiring in 1998. During his retirement, Jack meticulously maintained the Badger Car Wash in Fennimore until the fall of 2015. Jack was a simple man that found many joys being with his wonderful family, friends, and always had time to watch and talk about athletics. He loved supporting, and never missed, his grandchildren’s activities. Jack was also an avid golfer, loved to play euchre and cribbage, and always cheered for his Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Brewers. Jack was an active member of the Fennimore Lion’s Club and the St. Peter Lutheran Church. Jack’s dedication to his family, work and friends will forever be cherished.

Jack is survived by his three children, Julie (Chris) Kaelin of Lakeland, FL, Vicki (Randy) James of Livingston and Jim Petrick of College Station, TX, seven grandchildren; Stephanie and Geoffrey Kaelin, Miranda (Kyle) Gonner, Cassandra (Aaron) Dreyer, Ronica James (Fiance Logan Bollant), Maddie and Marley Petrick, great-granddaughter, Kamren Gonner, sister, Barb (Jack) Gardner of Las Cruces, NM and a wonderful friend Gayle Anderson of Fennimore.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and wife Karen on Aug. 27, 1994.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday evening June 13, 2016 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday morning. In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Jack Petrick.
