Jerry D. Wepking

Fennimore, WI-Jerry D. Wepking, age 84 died on Thursday morning Aug. 25, 2016 at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore. Jerry was born on May 24, 1932 in Lancaster the son of Delbert & Helen (Johnson) Wepking.

Jerry attended the Plum Valley School until coming to the Fennimore public schools graduating from Fennimore High School. He then attended one year at the Fennimore Vocational School. Jerry began his employment at the Insurance Exchange in Chicago, IL until taking early retirement to help with the care of his parents. After the death of his parents, Jerry then took a job at the Boscobel Library where he was employed for several years.

Jerry had great culinary skills that were taught to him by his mother. He was very good at making bread, coffee cake, and yeast donuts. He was also an active member of the Fennimore United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir, and a Masonic Lodge member for over 50 years. Jerry loved music and accompanied many musicians for numerous weddings throughout the Chicago area.

Jerry is survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Robert (Lois) Wepking, Stewert (Georgia) Weking and Joseph (Carol) Wepking.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday August 30, 2016 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery. Renee Thomas with the Fennimore United Methodist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday morning.
