Jane E. Napp

Jane NappJane E. (Thompson) Napp, age 78 of Fennimore, died on Monday morning Oct. 20, 2014 at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society surrounded by her family. Jane was born on May 13, 1936 at home in Mifflin, WI the daughter of Byron and Doris (Murray) Thompson.

During her childhood days she lived in Mifflin, Livingston and Stitzer.  She met the love of her life Bobby Napp at a baseball game in Stitzer.  They married on January 15, 1955 and were happily married for 57 years.  They were blessed with two daughters and three sons.

Jane spent her entire life devoted to her family.  She was “Grandma Jane” to many children in the Fennimore area.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing cards, shopping, swimming, going for rides, reading, and being a member of The Red Hatters.  She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore.

Mom will always be our hero for her strength, courage and dignity in her four year battle with cancer. She will live on in our hearts forever.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Chris Schultheis, Jenny, and staff at Medical Associates of Dubuque for the loving care they gave to Mom during her last four years.  They would also like to thank Dr. Eric Slane and the staff at High Point Clinic in Lancaster and the staff at the Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore.

Jane is survived by her five children; JoEllen (Pastor John) Taylor of Dubuque, IA, Tom (Sara) Napp of Fennimore, Terry Napp of Fennimore, Tim (Robin Pretzsch) Napp of Fennimore, and Jennifer (Jeff) Braudt of Boscobel, sister Jacquie (Steve) Clausen of McFarland, nine grandchildren; Natasha Napp, Joe and Jaelyn Braudt, Nathan Napp, and Trenton, Taylor, Teagan, Tracen and Tenley Napp, two step-grandchildren; Stephanie Taylor and Jay (Monica) Taylor, and six step-great-grandchildren; Laura, Aaron and Trey Davenport, and Christopher, Charles and Cameron Taylor.  Jane is also survived by two nephews; Michael and Jonathan Clausen of McFarland, and one niece; Meggie Clausen, Los Angeles, CA.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents By and Doris Thompson, husband Bobby on their 57th wedding anniversary on Jan. 15, 2012, and in-laws Clyde and Loretta Napp.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday Oct. 24, 2014 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore with Pastor John N. Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Fennimore. A visitation will be held from 4-8:00 P.M. on Thursday evening Oct. 23, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Friday morning.
