James L. Wilkinson

James L. Wilkinson, age 71, of Fennimore, died on Monday morning April 3, 2017, at Fennimore Good Samaritan Society. Jim was born on Dec. 29, 1945, in Mount Hope, WI, the son of George and Mary (Sunney) Wilkinson. He married Delores Edge on May 7, 1966, and Judy Olmstead on Nov. 24, 1984.

After graduating from Fennimore High School in 1964, Jim worked at Boebels Case Implement and then Bahl’s Cheese Factory where he made cheese and drove truck. Jim began working for Country Delight in 1970 until they closed in the mid 1980’s. He then worked for Richardson Trucking and lastly delivered feed at Fennimore Roller Mill before retiring. During retirement, Jim continued his passion of driving truck seasonally for Premier Co-op. Jim enjoyed deer hunting and old cars, especially his 1967 firebird. He was very particular and took great pride in keeping his home and garden in order and was a great cook. Jim was also very compassionate, visiting his folks daily to make sure their bird feeder was always full.

Jim is survived by his five siblings; Sharon (Bob) Wood of Mt. Hope, Louie (Rachel) Wilkinson of Fennimore, Dick (Diane) Wilkinson of Fennimore, Larry (Judy) Wilkinson of Fennimore, Sandy (Vernon) Stanfley of Stoughton, aunt Wilma Wilkinson of Boscobel along with several special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, sister-in-law Kathryn Wilkinson and niece Carrie Wilkinson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday April 8, 2017, at Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Hermitage Cemetery rural Mt. Hope. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on Friday April 7, 2017 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Saturday morning.
