Harold J. Pink

Harold J. Pink, age 90, of Fennimore, died on Sunday evening March 19, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. Harold was born on March 12, 1927 in Lancaster, WI the son of Edward and Florence (Bazinet) Pink. He married Marilyn Edwards on Nov. 12, 1949 in Lancaster.

Following graduation from Lancaster High School in 1944, Harold farmed until being drafted into the U.S. Army in Jan. of 1952. Harold proudly served his county until being honorably discharged in Dec. 1953. After returning home, Harold continued his passion of farming in the Platteville and Lancaster areas until moving to Fennimore in 1978. He then worked for Rossing Construction until retiring. Harold enjoyed the simple things in life like conversation, reading, scenic drives in the county and spending time with grandchildren. He was a hardworking man who believed in an honest days work and his dedication to family will forever be cherished.

Harold is survived by his five children; Harold E. “Jr.” (Theresa) Pink of Highland, Roger (Jane) Pink of Platteville, Tom (Kay) Pink of Lone Rock, Larry (Sharon) Pink of Platteville and Linda (Dan) Schlee of Rochester, MN; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Becky Pink of Highland, Trudy (George) Hitz of Pocatello, ID with children Gus and Sam, Cory (Kim) Pink of Platteville with children Dylan and T.J., Cary (Jon) Savage of Black Earth with children Declan and Rilynn, Chris (Danelle) Belz of Edgerton with children Owen and Landon, Kelly Belz of Lone Rock with daughter Kayley Bauer, Brandon (fiancé Sarah Gorree) Pink, Jared Pink and Ryan Pink all of Platteville; step-grandchildren and great grandchildren, Amanda (Dan) Kirby of Menomonie with children Rosalie and Malachi, Justin (fiancé Katie Ecklind) Schlee of River Falls, Philip (Stephanie) Schlee of Mankato, MN, Evan Schlee of Rochester, MN, Carter Schlee of River Falls, Laura Schlee of Rochester and Andrew and Marcus Schlee of River Falls. Harold is also survived by four sisters, Sister Claire Pink “Mary Ellen” of Milwaukee, Bernadine (Ron) Millin of Sun Prairie, Irene (Frank) Buhl of New Hampshire and Betty Pink of Lancaster.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marilyn on March 26, 2002, son Bruce Pink in 1961, daughter-in-law Dawn Pink, brothers Paul and David Pink and sisters Ruth Ann Haines and Monica Eversoll.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday March 25, 2017 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening March 24, 2017 at Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Saturday morning.
