Evelyn R. Calvert

Evelyn R. Calvert, age 85, died on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at her residence in Fennimore. Evelyn was born on Feb. 28, 1932 in Woodman, WI the daughter of James and Clara (Weir) Elliott. She married Robert Calvert on Oct. 24, 1953 in Boscobel.

Evelyn graduated from Boscobel High School with the class of 1950. She was employed at Rayovac in Fennimore from the early 1970’s until retiring in 1994. Evelyn had a love for life and kept very active line dancing, playing bingo, shopping, going to the boat and tending to her many flower gardens. She enjoyed cheering on the Packers and Badgers and never missed a grandchild’s or great-grandchild’s sporting event. Evelyn’s zest for life, fiery spirit and infectious smile will forever be cherished.

Evelyn is survived by her four children, Deb (Dan) Carns of Fennimore, Kim (Jim) Welsh of Boscobel, Kathy (Randy) Nelson of Moberly, MO and Rob (Lisa) Calvert of Boscobel, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; Autumn Carns of Fennimore with children Bryce and Barron, Jess (Amanda) Carns of Fennimore with children Calvert and Hudsyn, Jaime (Scott) Kovars of Woodlands, TX, Aaron (Kelly) Welsh of Cottage Grove, Casey (Wendy) Nelson of Noblesville, IN with children Alex, Jack and Max, Devon Calvert of Brodhead and Dalton and Reece Calvert of Boscobel. Evelyn is also survived by her sister Marian McKnight of Boscobel, sister-in-law Laura Walker of Boscobel and brother-in-laws, Kenny Kauffman of Fennimore and Vernon Kjos of Boscobel.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Robert on March 12, 1994, sisters Annabelle Kauffman, Carol Marks, Joanne Trumm, Dorothy Kjos and Bernice Galer, brothers, Jimmy, Allen and Bernard Elliot and special friend Glenn Fry on Dec. 31, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore will burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Monday evening Oct. 2, 2017, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore.
