Elizabeth B. "Betty" Hoffman

Elizabeth B. Hoffman (Riemenapp), age 87, of Fennimore, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Ingleside Manor nursing home in Mt. Horeb surrounded by her loving family.

Elizabeth, affectionately called Betty by family and friends, was born on April 23, 1930 in Dickeyville, WI, the daughter of Clement and Elizabeth (Pickel) Riemenapp.

Betty married Robert F. Hoffman at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore on June 1, 1949. They farmed for several years before Robert became a rural letter carrier in Mt. Hope in 1961, retiring in 1991. Betty helped with the farm and held jobs at 3M in Prairie du Chien, the West Grant School luncheon program and Rayovac. Upon retirement, Betty and Robert moved to Apache Junction, Arizona returning to Fennimore in June 2005. Betty and Robert enjoyed traveling together and loved their family dearly. They surely are dancing together in Heaven.

Betty is survived by her eight children; James (Pamela) of Sun Prairie, Patrick (Julie) of Fennimore, Barbara (Richard) Nies of Beaver Dam, Linda (Richard) Nechvatal of Verona, Carol (Rob Disque) of Truth or Consequences, NM, Joseph (Catherine) of Mt. Hope, Jerry (Betty) of Spanish Fort, AL, and Mary (Mark) Kellogg of Canton, TX.; twenty-one grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; a sister Imelda (Jack) Northouse, a brother Peter and two sisters-in-law; Beverly (Ben) Hoffman and Clara (Paul) Hoffman.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert on Dec. 3, 2012; two brothers, Vernon and Bernard; father and mother-in-law Aloysius and Mary (Johnson) Hoffman; sisters-in-law Agnes, Rosemary, Marcella and Dorothy; and brothers-in-law, Raymond, Benjamin and Larry.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday morning, Dec. 27, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A Parish Rosary will be held at 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday morning in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall followed by visitation in the church hall from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
