Connie R. Edge

Connie R. Edge, age 70, of Mt. Ida, died on Friday May 12, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster. Connie was born on May 2, 1947 in Prairie du Chien, WI the daughter of Charles and Ivanelle (Galbrieth) Lull. She married Walter Edge on Oct. 1, 1966 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore.

Connie graduated from Boscobel High School and then began working at Loud Speaker Component in Lancaster. She then worked at the Cobb Canning Factory before tending bar in Werley for many years. After the Werley Tavern burned down, Connie became a waitress at Hickory Grove Golf Course until the late 1990’s. Connie also did bookwork for Edge Brothers Construction. She and Walter loved to travel and spent their winters in Florida beginning in 1995 and in Arizona for the past 10 years. Connie enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, cross county skiing, deer hunting, participating in muzzle loading competitions, and spending time with her late German Shepard Tasha. She also liked cheering on the Packers and Badgers, painting, and bowling in different leagues throughout the area. Connie thought the world of her grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them. Her witty sense of humor and ability to make the best of everyday despite her courageous six-year battle with cancer will forever be remembered.

Connie is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Walter of Mt. Ida, son John (Traci) Edge of Boscobel; four grandchildren, Courtney Oates, Shannon (Kyle) Cathman and Logan and Jordin Edge; two great-grandchildren Ryker and Rowyn Cathman; twin sister Kay (Bill) Brendemuehl of Kerkhoven, MN; sisters, Charlene Hampton of Rochester, MN, Sandy Collins of Madison and Terri Lull of Fort Lauderdale, FL, along with several special nieces and nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore with burial of the remains to follow in the Mt. Ida Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Thursday morning. The Larson Family Funeral Home of Fennimore is assisting the family.
