Charleen L. Lee

Charleen LeeCharleen L. Lee, age 78, of Fennimore, died on Wed. Sept. 16, 2015 at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society. Charleen was born on Jan. 30, 1937 in Stoughton, WI the daughter of Percy and Genevieve (Mickelson) Weum. She married Larry “Ozzie” Lee on Jan. 1, 1971.

Following graduation from Stoughton High School, Charleen worked as a housekeeper at various hotels in the Madison Area. She then worked at U.W. Madison until retiring and moving to Fennimore in 1995. While in Fennimore Charleen worked at numerous places including Casey’s, The House On The Rock, the bakery in Lancaster, and Fennimore United Methodist Church before retiring for good in 2007. Charleen cherished spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed getting together for Mother’s Day, where she always needed to know what was on the menu. Charleen also enjoyed playing cards and watching sports. She lived a simple life and her commitment to hard work and love of family will be remembered forever.

Charleen is survived by her two children, Lisa Fuerstenberg (fiancé Shawn Lange) and Scott Lee both of Fennimore, five grandchildren; Tory and Brandon Fuerstenberg and Shawna, Kyle, and Makenzie Lange, brothers Donald (Vera) Weum of Argyle and Marlowe Weum of Pennsylvania, and sister-in-law Peggy Weum of Blue River.

Charleen was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband Larry Lee, sister Gloria Blumfield and brothers Parker, Dennis, and Warren Weum.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday Sept. 19, 2015 at the Fennimore United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Saturday morning.
