Fennimore – Bonita M. “Bonnie” Kuchar, age 78, of Fennimore, died on Sunday afternoon July 26, 2015 at the New Glarus Home in New Glarus, WI. Bonnie was born in Dodgeville, WI and raised in Preston on April 6, 1937 the daughter of Ira and Augusta (Murphy) Everson. She was a lifelong resident of the Fennimore and Mt. Hope areas.
In her early years, after graduating from Fennimore High School, Bonnie was a secretary in Madison and Fennimore. She was also employed at the Boscobel Clinic as a nurse prior to marrying William “Billy” Collins of Mt. Hope on Dec. 13, 1962. She spent the next twenty years as a homemaker, farming and raising her five children. After the death of her husband Billy in 1984, she resumed her career at the Boscobel Clinic. On April 27, 1991, Bonnie married John J. Kuchar and worked at the Southwest Library System as a librarian clerk until retiring at age 64. Bonnie’s many passions were reading, cooking, sewing, canning, playing cards, shopping, hunting, fishing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was participating and sharing her passions with her children and grandchildren.
Bonnie leaves behind her five children, Brenda (Joseph) Pease, Fennimore; Julie (Patrick) Roper, Belleville; Kelly Collins, Middleton; Sara (Robert) Doran, Mt. Horeb, Chad (Lisa) Collins, New Glarus, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters, Janie (Mark) Nolen, Fountain Hills, AZ; Sheri Everson, Madison, and two brothers, Larry (Lynda) Everson, Necedah; and Kerry (Kerry) Everson, Boscobel.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, spouses William Collins and John Kuchar, daughter Lisa Collins, and brother Dennis Everson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday July 30, 2015 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in Mt. Hope Township, Grant Co., WI with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore.
