Fennimore, WI- Rev. LeRoy G. Peterson, age 93, died on Sunday morning May 29, 2016, at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore. LeRoy was born on March 10, 1923, in Westby, WI the son of Anton & Martha (Ruud) Peterson. He was united in marriage to Wilma Christopherson on June 21, 1975, at Castle Rock Lutheran Church. LeRoy graduated from Westby High School on May 28, 1941. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving from 1945 until being honorably discharged in 1946. (Becker) Briel. She grew up in Stitzer and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1951. She was united in marriage to Glenn Barr on March 24, 1956 in Liberty Township Grant Co., WI. Fennimore, WI-Catherine M. Riemenapp, age 96 died on Wednesday May 25, 2016 at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore. She was born on Aug. 15, 1919 on Irish Ridge in Mt. Hope Township the daughter of James & Nellie (Durnen) O’Shaughnessy. Catherine was united in marriage to Vernon Riemenapp on Nov. 17, 1949 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore. Catherine graduated from Mt. Hope high school in 1937 and then attended and earned her teaching degree from the Platteville Teachers College. Stitzer, WI-Virgil George Bendorf, age 84, left for his eternal home on Wednesday May 25, 2016. He was born Aug. 4, 1931 in rural Lancaster to Lewis and Nellie (Wieland) Bendorf. He graduated from Lancaster High School with the class of 1949. On December 9, 1952 Virgil left for army basic training at Indian Town Gap, Pennsylvania.
