O’Flahrity, age 87, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2015, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Fennimore, WI, surrounded by his loving family.  Jim was born on April 1, 1928, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dodgeville, WI, the only child of James Patrick and Bertha (Hugill) O’Flahrity. Jim spent his early years on his grandfather’s (Thomas O’Flahrity) section of land in Wingville Township.  He proudly told many stories of the days that he lived there and how much his grandfather meant to him. Montfort – Ervin M. Prochaska, age 82, of Montfort, died on Saturday morning Dec. 26, 2015 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. Ervin was born on Oct. 14, 1933 in Castle Rock Township, Grant County, WI the son of Ed and Mayme (Nechvatal) Prochaska. He married Jean Schultz in 1963 in Greendale, WI. Ervin excelled in football and basketball at Montfort High School, graduating in 1952. Following graduation, he farmed with his brother Lavern on Snowbottom Road until joining the U.S. Army in 1954. Shirley “LaVon” Hahn, age 92, of Fennimore, died on Tuesday morning Dec. 15, 2015 at Morningside Assisted Living in Lancaster. LaVon was born on June 6, 1923 in Grant County, WI the daughter of George and Gladys (Hickin) Foreyt. She married Cletus Hahn on Oct. 7, 1944 in Milwaukee. After the war she and Cletus moved back to Fennimore where she lived in her own home until August 2015. LaVon was a cook for Fennimore Schools for several years before joining Cletus in the family business, H&N Plumbing and Heating, upon the death of Cletus’ partner. She worked at H&N …

Dodgeville – Joseph Walter “Joe” Washa, age 57, of Dodgeville and formerly of Montfort, died on Monday evening Nov. 30, 2015 at his residence in Dodgeville. Joe was born on March 21, 1958 in Boscobel, WI the son of Harold and Dorothy (Daggett) Washa. He married Deb Klar on Sept. 25, 1999 in Montfort. Joe first lived in Castle Rock and then rural Montfort before moving into Montfort in 1970. He attended Montfort Grade School and Graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1976. Joe worked for the Village of Montfort from 1976-2010 and then Lands End in Dodgeville from 2011-2015. …
