Brandon Matthew Wester, age 19 of rural Fennimore, passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2012 surrounded by family and friends. Brandon was born March 9, 1993 the son of Al and Pat (Moneypenny) Wester. Brandon attended Fennimore Schools and graduated in 2011.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends and formed a very special bond with the teaching and support staff.  He was baptized at the Hickory Grove Lutheran Church in 1998 where he later became the “official hugger” for many years. Mount Hope – Jack L. Mulrooney, Age 83 of Mount Hope, died on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Orchard Manor in Lancaster.  He was born on July 2, 1929 in Mount Hope Township, the son of Leo and Elizabeth (Bessie) Mulrooney.  Jack graduated from Mount Hope High School in 1948.  On October 7, 1961, he was united in marriage to Carol Zinkle at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien.  Following their marriage, the couple farmed the Mulrooney family farms for the next 42 years, until Carol’s untimely death in 2003.  In 2005, Jack sold the original farm (which …

LAURA KATHLEEN (LYGHT) DAILEY of Livingston/Poynette, WI, ascended on Friday, August 24 at 11:20AM at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Platteville with her children kneeling at her side.  Laura was the youngest daughter of Robert and Josephine (Funk) Lyght, she was born on March 9, 1919 in rural Grant County.  Laura attended elementary school in Big Patch and high school in Rewey.  She met and married Lyle Dailey, the love of her life, on July 22, 1936.  They were together 71 years prior to his death in January 2008.  Working side by side, they farmed in Platteville and Livingston, raising …

Fennimore, WI-Betty E. Schrader, age 89, of Fennimore died on Tuesday Aug. 21, 2012. Betty was born on April 21, 1923 in Livingston, WI the daughter of Alvin & Lulu (Sturdevant) Knutson. She was united in marriage to Richard Schrader on Aug. 21, 1946 in Springfield, IL. Following graduation from Montfort High School, Betty worked various jobs until enlisting in the U.S. Army. She was stationed at Arlington Hall in Arlington, VA. and was very proud of being part of the U.S. team that was able to break the Japanese code during WWII.
